Homeade Hamburger Helper

Remember the old "Hamburger Helper, makes a great meal... commercial... I can hear it now, can you? This recipe reminds me of that, but with no box ingredients of course! I feel like most kids will eat this meal because it is straight forward meat, cheese and pasta. There is nothing gourmet to this meal. It is catered to the busy mom or dad, (or working individual) who would rather make homemade instead of a box dinner and really only has under 45 minutes till it reaches the mouths of  hungry kids. Enjoy!

Ground Beef Macaroni Casserole
 Taste of Home

1 box elbow macaroni
1 lb. ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 can Italian tomato sauce
1 egg
1 can condensed cream of chicken soup
1-1/2 cups 2% milk
2 Tbsp. butter, melted
1 Tbsp. minced parsley
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (I added a little more)

Cook macaroni according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink, drain. Stir in tomato sauce, heat through.

Drain macaroni: transfer to a greased 13x9 inch baking dish. In a small bowl, combine egg, soup, milk, butter and parsley; pour over macaroni. Spoon beef mixture over top and sprinkle with cheese

pour egg and cream of chicken soup mixture over pasta, then pour meat mixture over top

top with cheese

serve!

Bake uncovered at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes or until bubbly. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
