Key Lime Bars
I love anything with lemons and limes.. especially desserts. They are tart and sweet at the same time. They are fresh and scream "summer"! I am sad that summer is almost to an end so I'm going to experiment with different citrus recipes. This recipe is good, and very easy to throw together.
Key Lime Bars
adapted from Bettty Crocker
1 1/2 c graham cracker crumbs ( 20 squares)
1/3 butter or margarine, melted
3 T. sugar
1 package (8 0z) cream cheese, softened
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup Key lime juice or regular lime juice
1 T. grated lime peel
Heat oven to 350. Grease bottom and sides of a 9 inch square pan with cooking spray
In a small bowl, mix cracker crumbs, butter and sugar with fork. Press evenly in bottom of pan. refrigerate while making filling.
Beat cream cheese until light and fluffy, beat in milk until smooth.. Beat in lime juice and lime peel.Spread out layer in pan.
Bake about 35 minutes or until center is set. Cool for 30 minutes. Cover and refrigerate for 3 hours cut in 6 rows by 6 rows to make 36 bars.
