Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
adapted from Cooks Illustrated

2 C plus 2T flour
1/2 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
12 T butter melted and cooled to warm
1 cup brown sugar ( light or dark )
1/2 C sugar
1 large egg and 1 egg yolk
2 t vanilla extract
1 1/2 C semi sweet choc chips
heat oven to 325 degrees. Mix flour, salt, and baking soda together and set aside.
Mix butter and sugars together. Mix in egg, yolk and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and mix. Stir in chips.
bake 10- 13 min or until cookies are light golden brown and outer edges are hard but the inside center are still soft and puffy. Cool on cookie sheets.
